Charlotte Screening of “Hometown Habitat”
May 12 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
As the greater Charlotte/Mecklenburg region continues to grow and build out, there are fewer and fewer areas that can maintain a true wild environment for nature to thrive. Fewer of our native wildilfe species can find suitable habitat where they feel safe enough to raise a family. Without an inviting habitat, they move on. They lose and we also lose.
Home owners, schools, businesses and places of worship have the ability to give back to nature, that which has been lost to development. We can improve existing landscapes just about anywhere and restore some elements that will attract many species back into our area. The film, “Hometown Habitat” showcases many examples of how this has taken place with positive results.
This free film should be viewed by homeowners, gardeners, nature lovers, builders and developers, realestate agents, teachers, land owners and corporate executives. We should all understand that we can have both continued economic growth and at the same time, provide a healthy, natural ecosystem for wildlife to thrive. Join us, bring a friend and get inspired to make a difference for our “natural neighbors”.
This is a free film with free parking, and free snacks. Don’t miss this unique opportunity!
Note that this program takes place at Myers Park Baptist Church
