HAWK: Campfire Stories, Nature Decorations and S’mores!
December 5 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join HAWK for a cool Fall evening outdoors at Squirrel Lake Park listening to nature stories by the campfire, picking up some nature-inspired holiday decorating ideas, and enjoying s’mores.
Listeners will feel that “at home” secure feeling as they hear Steve Houser weave stories of the natural world, peace, hope, and his adventures with humor. Steve is a native of rural North Carolina, a retired CMS educator, a naturalist, and currently Director of the Junior Naturalist (Youth) Program for the national nonprofit, Family Nature Summits.
He has received numerous educator awards in his many years in the field and is a past recipient of the NC Wildlife Federation’s Governor’s Award as NC Environmental Educator of the Year.
Next summer, the 2018 Family Nature Summit will be located in the White Mountains of Maine and New Hampshire. See Steve if you want to learn more about that experiential hands-on vacation for families and individuals.
After the storytelling, Jasmine Winkler will share some seasonal crafting ideas using nature’s bounty and we’ll all enjoy some s’mores and hot beverages. Bring your flashlights and dress for the weather.
This meeting is free and open to everyone. For more information,704-236-0929 , HAWKncwf@gmail.com
