South Wake Conservationists, the NCWF chapter based out of Holly Springs, will be participating in the 9th annual Longleaf Festival at Harris Lake County Park.
Longleaf Festival celebrates the longleaf pine ecosystem and more. Learn about the life of the longleaf pine, how it is managed with fire, its history and the wildlife and plants that depend on its natural habitat. Visit with agencies and organizations who have come to share interactive exhibits and information about longleaf pines and other fun topics. Get a ticket to ride the Longleaf Express to our 60-acre restored Longleaf Forest where you will see all three life stages of the longleaf pine. Sit back, relax and delight in the musical stylings of the Kudzu Ramblers and Kyle Joynes! Enjoy a bite to eat at one of our food trucks: Bruster’s Real Ice CreamMr. A’s Beignets,2 Chefs on the Go and Big Mike’s BBQ! See live birds of prey, reptiles and amphibians up close – touch a snake! Enjoy the many games and crafts on hand for kids (and adults!).
Plan to park in our parking field. Ride the parking shuttle to the event area, or walk through the woods while searching for items on a scavenger hunt!
There is something for everyone to enjoy!
