Bats! Public Program- Monroe

Allison Medford (NC Wildlife Resources Commission) will present us with a general look at bats in NC, including their current status, White-Nose Syndrome, dispelling myths, and looking at the different bat-related work being done by the Commission.

Allison Medford is a Wildlife Diversity Biologist with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from NC State in 2013, and her Master’s degree in Applied Ecology at NCSU in 2014. Her current work includes monitoring songbird, barn owl, and small mammal populations in the Uwharries and throughout the Piedmont. She is married to her husband, Rupert, and has a one-year-old daughter, Naomi. She enjoys serving at her local church, working on her family’s small farm, and hand lettering.
