Bird Walk: Pee Dee NWR (Wadesboro)
October 12, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Join Union County Wildlife Chapter, Biologist Anthony Lombardino, and NCWF Staff for a guided bird walk at PeeDee National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). In 1963, PeeDee NWR was established as a bird sanctuary and maintains over 8,000 acres of prime habitat along the floodplain of the PeeDee River.
Bottomland hardwood forests, wetlands, old fields, and open water add lots of habitat diversity in the refuge. Birders of all levels are welcome to join us as we search for migrating warblers and vireos, wintering waterfowl, and many other species that call PeeDee NWR home.
