Bog Habitat Workday at Carolina Beach State Park
January 18 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

NCWF and its Island Wildlife Chapter (IWC) will join volunteers, local partner Friends of Pleasure Island State Parks, and Park Range Jesse Anderson to continue work digging a large depression in the ground where a bog garden habitat will be created. This much-anticipated addition to the Visitors Center will provide opportunities for the public to observe and learn about vulnerable bog species of North Carolina, including Venus flytraps, pitcher plants and more! Tools and gloves will be provided, or bring you own. In accordance with the State Park Volunteer Policy, participants must bring proof of vaccination to participate. Limited to 20 participants. Please email IWC president Virginia Holman at [email protected] to learn more and RSVP.
