Bolin Creek Invasive Plant Removal: Part Two (Chapel Hill)

August 13, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Join NCWF’s newest chapter, the Tri-County Conservationists, for a habitat restoration chapter event! This is a great opportunity to learn more about the chapter’s effort to promote environmental stewardship and create healthier wildlife habitat through action-oriented conservation. The chapter will initially focus their conservation work in Chapel Hill with plans to grow and serve Alamance, Chatham and Orange County. This is the chapter’s second workday at Bolin Creek. We will continue where we left off last time. The crew will work together to remove invasive plants that are running rampant along Bolin Creek in Chapel Hill. Invasive plants, such as privet, create a host of environmental problems, including but not limited to, decreased plant diversity, increased soil erosion, degraded habitat, and diminished water quality. You will be amazed at how much land can be reclaimed for native species in just a couple of hours! Tools will be provided, or bring your own! Please click below to register and receive the full event details.
