Box Turtles: Disappearing Gems of the Forest

April 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Biologist and Scholar Ann Somers looks at a small turtle she's holding in her hands.

Join the Triad Wild! Chapter of NCWF for a presentation about our state reptile, the terrestrial Box Turtle, with UNC Greensboro Senior Lecturer Emerita and Lloyd International Honors College Faculty Fellow, and NCWF Board Member, Ann Berry Somers. By the end of this presentation, you’ll understand the amazing life history of box turtles, the threats that these turtles face, how to tell the difference between males and females (tougher than you think!) and how you can help protect them. You can participate in this event online or in-person at the UNC-G Plant and Pollinator Center in Greensboro. In-person participants should be prepared for a short uphill walk on an unpaved surface to get from the parking lot to the venue.
