Invasive Plant Removal at Milburnie Park (Raleigh)

Rescheduled due to rain! Originally scheduled for February 23, 2022.

Join North Carolina Wildlife Federation and Raleigh Parks and Rec for an invasive plant removal workday! Invasive wisteria and other plants are taking over a section of forest and must be removed. Volunteers will cut back vines using loppers and saws.

Parking will be at the Neuse River Trailhead at Milburnie Park in Raleigh and volunteers will need to walk 1/4 mile to the work site. There are no restrooms onsite, but they are available a short drive from the parking lot. This is event is recommended for those ages 12 and older.

Volunteers and staff must follow the COVID-19 policies below so that projects are safe for everyone.

Masks/face shields are required for all volunteers (extra masks will available for those who do not have one).

  • Social distancing must be practiced (6-feet between individuals)
  • Volunteers must participate in an infrared temperature check
  • State, federal, and local mandates must be followed
  • If you have COVID-19 symptoms, please do not volunteer
