Latta Preserve Fairy House Festival
February 25, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Get outside and enjoy nature (and fairy houses!) at Latta Nature Preserve’s annual celebration of Nature! Join Latta Preserve and NCWF’s Charlotte Wildlife Stewards chapter for this annual festival that will inspire appreciation of the environment with storytelling, children’s crafts, activities, and games – all focused on fairies and nature! Fairy, gnome, and other appropriate costumes are encouraged but not required. Food vendors will be onsite. Volunteers are needed for the event and advance purchase of tickets is required for all others who wish to attend.
Admission is free for volunteers and for children up to age four. Tickets are $7 per person for all others, ages five and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks in all aspects of the event, including but not limited to: set-up, clean-up, crafts, games, registration, fairy house building, campfire, obstacle course, etc. Volunteers are needed during 2 shifts: 9:00am-1:00pm or 12:00-4:00pm – you may sign up for either shift or BOTH. Lunch will be provided for volunteers working both shifts only. Snacks/goody bags for all!
Please dress for the weather – the Fairy House Festival is a RAIN OR SHINE (or SNOW) event! Many staff and participants wear fairy-themed costumes for this event, so please do so if it makes you happy! Volunteer badges will be provided. Volunteers must be 12 or older, and those under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
