Educational Pollinator Garden Planting at Millenium Forest (Columbia)
October 17, 2024 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Join NCWF Wildlife Habitat Stewards of Northeastern NC Chapter and Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge for an educational pollinator garden planting at the site of the Millennium Forest in Columbia! Volunteers of all ages are invited to participate in this watershed stewardship opportunity where we will be creating an educational pollinator garden with native perennial plants.
This past March, volunteers restored over 500 Atlantic white cedar trees at this site for wildlife and habitat. By creating a native educational pollinator garden at the forest, we welcome folks to explore this area and learn more about the human and wildlife benefits of planting native tree and pollinator plant species.
Parking and restrooms are available on site. Please wear closed-toed shoes and bring gloves, insect repellant, sunscreen, plenty of water, and anything else to make your experience more enjoyable. Extra gloves and tools will be provided!
