The youth of today care deeply about their future and the future of the planet. Eager to make a difference, they often don’t know how to effectively engage to bring about positive change. The 2024 Ocean Advocacy Workshop (OAW24) builds on the successes of prior OAWs which were highly rated by participants. The OAW24 will include short, TED-like talks and breakout sessions led by speakers that reflect the diversity and mindsets of North Carolina’s population. Motivated college students and community members will learn how to take action to effect change. The atmosphere of community and positivity motivates participants to engage and be supported by the collective desire to serve. This non-partisan event echoes the non-partisan approach to wildlife conservation of the NC Wildlife Federation, the primary sponsor of the event. Registration Fees: Registration is non-refundable with few exceptions. Those who register or sponsor will receive an online subscription to the quarterly NCWF journal and invitations to engage in learning opportunities and grassroots action. NCWF and the workshop organizers are committed to diversity and inclusion. All who are interested are encouraged to join us.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion after the event. Those attending Saturday only will not be eligible for the certificate.

Environmentally-friendly meals and snacks are included and will be provided for all registered participants. Lodging is included in registration. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian to receive complimentary lodging onsite. Participants may opt-out of onsite lodging, if preferred. Handicap-accessible lodging is available upon request.

A discounted early bird rate will be extended for registrations through March 12.
