Raleigh Earth Day Celebration at Dorothea Dix Park

The Neuse River Hawks Chapter of NCWF will join Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources for an Earth Day celebration event at Flowers Field to celebrate our planet and the many ways the City of Raleigh, city partners, and community invest in our planet all year long. Come play field games, ride a balance bike through a challenge course, touch a truck, grab a bite to eat, learn about pollinators, discover ways to get involved, pick up seed giveaways, and more!

Where: Dix Park, Flowers Field. 2105 Umstead Drive, Raleigh, 27603

Information booths, activities, and food trucks  (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) From 6-8 p.m. Flowers Field will feature information tables, activities, and food trucks.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Electric Bus (6:30 p.m.) We will celebrate the arrival of a new electric bus that will be used by Raleigh Parks to transport participants to programs and events.
Clean Energy. Zero Emissions. 100% Electric.

Guest speaker for the City (8:00 p.m.) Learn about the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge and other ways the City invests in our Planet.

Movie in the Park (8:15 p.m.)  Disneynature’s Wings of Life (rated G). We invite families to bring blankets, chairs, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. The movie has a run time of 1 hour and 21 minutes.

Information tables and activities will feature the following: Wake Audubon Society, the Neuse River Hawks Chapter of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, North Carolina Forest Service, Raleigh Water, Nature Preserves and Programs, Outdoor Recreation, Neighborhood Ecology Corps, Office of Sustainability, Parks Maintenance and Horticulture, Invasive Species Program, Volunteer Services Program, Stormwater, RPD Volunteer Program, Housing and Neighborhoods, Neighborhood Enrichment Services, Volunteer Raleigh, Foster Grandparents, Youth Services, Partnership Raleigh, and more!
