Rethinking Rodents (Matthews)
February 6, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Some rodents eat pest insects. Others dispense seeds. They can compost. Rodents are also a food source for many wildlife predators. Find out why rats and mice are important to our native ecosystem.
Our speaker, Master Naturalist Corinne Rizzo, will let us get hands-on with some unexpected specimens as she talks about North Carolina’s rodents. Rizzo is a Certified Interpretive Guide, and a Certified North Carolina Environmental Educator. She works for Mecklenburg County’s Nature Preserves and Natural Resources, currently at the Stevens Creek Nature Center.
