Join NCWF South Wake Conservationists Chapter for a trash trap clean out in Walnut Creek. Trash traps are cages that collect and trap trash as it floats down a waterway. These devices stop the flow of trash into larger bodies of water, which in this case stops the flow of trash into Lake Johnson from Walnut Creek. Trash in waterways is especially harmful as it can entangle and be ingested by wildlife. South Wake Conservationists, in partnership with Sound Rivers and The Great Raleigh Cleanup, has the opportunity to monitor and clean a new trash trap installed in Walnut Creek at the mouth of Lake Johnson. Join us in removing trash from a trash trap in an urban stream!
