Wildlife Corridors and Habitat Connectivity

June 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Creating a patchwork of habitat is increasingly important to protect wildlife and biodiversity with the steadily increasing development of forested acres in North Carolina. The South Wake Conservationists chapter hosts Dr. Liz Rutledge, NCWF’s Director of Wildlife Resources, for a discussion of the value and the impact of wildlife corridors and connecting wildlife habitats. Creating a patchwork of wildlife habitat is increasingly important to protect wildlife and humans from conflict and vehicular collisions as the quality and availability of wildlife habitat declines. Connectivity is essential to preserving dwindling wildlife populations and maintaining genetic vigor.
