Join the Habitat and Wildlife Keepers (HAWK), a chapter of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, for a spectacular fall charter bus trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Oconaluftee Visitor Center – a prime destination for wildlife lovers and autumn adventurers alike! We will meet at Stumptown Park and depart promptly at 9:00 AM.

As the leaves turn and the air grows crisp, the Smokies come alive with the sights and sounds of the elk rutting season. This is your chance to witness one of nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles: the majestic elk bugling across the valley in a dramatic display of strength and courtship. Dr. Caleb Hickman, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and Supervisory Fisheries & Wildlife Biologist for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians will guide us through an intimate experience with the land and the elk at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Any children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
