Bats in the Triad! (Browns Summit)
July 26, 2025 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join NCWF Triad Wild! Chapter for a late night bat detection program at Haw River State Park. Did you know North Carolina is home to at least 17 different species of bats? Often overlooked due to their nocturnal nature, these amazing ecosystem warriors will be out and about during the new moon. Come take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about your tiny neighbors, the only flying mammals on the planet!
Scott Fletcher, Duke Energy Natural Resources manager will lead this educational outing with the help of thermal and acuostic detection equipment. This is a free event appropriate for families. Be sure to bring folding chairs, a head lamp or flashlight, bug spray, water, snacks, and your curiosity!
