Bird Nesting Box Workshop (Charlotte)
January 26, 2025 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Nesting season for songbirds will be here before we know it and birds like the brown-headed nuthatch will be house hunting soon. Nuthatches are cavity nesters. They excavate their nests in dead pine trees or use abandoned cavities left behind by woodpeckers. Now is the time to build a birdhouse and invite these beautiful birds to raise a family in your yard.
Brown-headed nuthatch populations are declining in North Carolina due to habitat loss from development and deforestation. They are now listed as a species of greatest conservation need by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. Join NCWF Charlotte Wildlife Stewards Chapter and build a brown-headed nuthatch house to help conserve this species. All supplies will be provided. Please, only one birdhouse per family. Capacity is limited. Registration required.
