Fall Litter Sweep (Marshville)
November 16, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Who hasn’t seen plastic litter, styrofoam, and other garbage accumulated along streets and highways? Litter in the environment can harm wildlife through entanglement, suffocation, and even poisoning. Roadside litter also attracts animals and increases the risk of wildlife injury due to vehicular collision.
Join NCWF Union County Wildlife Chapter, the NC Forest Service, and NCWF Staff to make it Clean and Green. Together we will remove harmful litter from a section of Canal Road near the State line. For every 25 pounds of litter collected, NCWF plants native species all over the state to promote healthy wildlife habitat, mitigate climate change, and buffer stormwater runoff and sediment load in waterways.
