Herps & Habitats – Education & Exploration (Gatesville)
October 4, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join NCWF Wildlife Habitat Stewards of Northeastern NC Chapter and Jeff Hall, NCWRC’s Statewide Herpetologist, for a hands-on mini workshop that dives into the fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians, and why they are vital to North Carolina’s ecosystems and cultural heritage.
You will discover why herps (reptiles and amphibians) matter more than you may think, how to share our land with them, tips to reduce human-herp conflicts, and simple changes you can make to welcome herps to your property.
Following the workshop, we’ll head out for a guided group walk through Merchants Millpond State Park, where we’ll search for herps in their natural habitat.
