April 22, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Please join MARSH, a local chapter of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, to learn about our region’s native Rattlesnakes, the important role they play in our ecosystem, and how we can peacefully coexist with them. Participants will have the opportunity to observe live, captive snakes!
Our speaker is Eric Bitler. Eric serves as the lead coordinator of venomous training programs for The Rattlesnake Conservancy. He is a certified venomous handling instructor, a licensed reptile and amphibian rehabber and possesses his endangered species permit. Eric is also a trained firefighter, paramedic and SWAT team medic in Charlotte, NC. Eric enjoys sharing his passion for snakes and reptiles and helping educate the public about why we need snakes in our world.
