Main Street Park Invasive Removal Workday (Rolesville)
August 19, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join NCWF’s Neuse River Hawks Conservationists chapter in removing invasive plants at Main Street Park in Rolesville! Our team will work with a crew from Native Plants Matter to remove Japanese stiltgrass and privet around the playground and along the trails in the park. This effort will help us prepare the site for native plants (stay tuned – workday coming this fall!) and allow wildlife to reclaim the area. Please come equipped with long sleeves and a full water bottle. If you have a string trimmer that you feel comfortable using, please bring it! Long pants and protective eyewear is recommended for those using string trimmers. Gloves will be provided for those without string trimmers for hand pulling privet saplings. We will meet and park in the park’s parking lot. After a brief introduction, we’ll take a short walk together to the worksite.
