Join us this month as we “Meet a Mushroom” and learn of all things fungi. Fungi are an important part of our ecosystems, acting as decomposers and benefiting plant communities. However, they provide an important food source for may species such as microbes, insects, reptiles and even mammals!

We are excited to invite Winding Brook Farms to teach us more about these amazing organisms. Winding Brook is a unique, cozy farm in Monroe, NC that grows fresh culinary mushrooms, tends rabbits, and keeps earthworms. Their farm is a Certified Wildlife Habitat, and the owners take joy in the natural surroundings and educating others about the fascinating world of fungi!
