The Great Southeast Pollinator Census & Red Wolf Program (Columbia)
August 23, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Folks of all ages are invited to join NCWF Wildlife Habitat Stewards of Northeastern NC Chapter and Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge for The Great Southeast Pollinator Census followed by a Red Wolf program at the Red Wolf Center in Columbia. Everyone will have the chance to become community scientists as we conduct our pollinator census in the native pollinator garden located at the Red Wolf Center. Folks of all ages will observe pollinators in the garden, with the assistance of helpful ID guides and knowledgeable volunteers, and record their observations on provided data sheets that will be submitted to this regional science project. Guides and data sheets will be available in both English and Spanish. Following the census, participants will enjoy a Red Wolf program that dives into the history and biology of Red Wolves. During the program, folks will have the opportunity to view the two exhibit Red Wolves that live at the Red Wolf Center.
All supplies will be provided and parking and restrooms are available.
