Shaw Society Elk Experience (Cherokee)

Join North Carolina Wildlife Federation for an exciting two-day experience exploring the wildlife, culture, and history of Western NC!
Participants will attend an elk walk led by NC Wildlife Resource Commission District 9 Wildlife Biologist Justin McVey, during peak mating season in Cherokee National Forest and a trip to the Cherokee Museum for a presentation from Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Natural Resource Manager Mike Lavoie, on environmental issues facing the wildlife and habitat in Cherokee Nation territory.
In between activities, participants will experience the beauty of Cherokee, NC, including delicious food at local restaurants, a pleasant stay at Great Smokies Inn, and fellowship with other Shaw Society members and NCWF staff. Cost is all-inclusive.
