Litter in the environment can harm wildlife through entanglement, suffocation, and even poisoning. Roadside litter attracts animals and increases the risk of wildlife injury due to vehicle collisions. Improper disposal of trash reduces water quality and harms aquatic habitats.

Join NCWF Union County Wildlife Chapter and NC Forest Service to Keep Union County Clean and Make it Green! Together we will remove harmful litter from a section of Summerlin Dairy Rd. For every 25 lbs of litter collected, NCWF plants native species all over the sate to promote healthy wildlife habitat, mitigate climate change, and buffer stormwater runoff and sediment load in waterways.
