Join NCWF’s Wildlife Habitat Stewards of Northeastern NC for a ranger-guided paddle of Merchants Millpond. Relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of native wildlife as you leisurely paddle through the tranquil waters of the pond. Wildlife that calls Merchants Millpond home include otters, beavers, alligators, turtles, snakes, as well as many species of songbirds, waterfowl, and wading birds.

You are welcome to bring your own canoe or kayak to this event or rent a 2-person canoe from the park for a total fee of $10. Participants must be a minimum age of 13 to rent a canoe per park policy. Maximum capacity for this event is 10 boats.

For those renting a canoe, please arrive at the Visitor’s Center at 3:30 pm for payment and to pick up your life jacket, paddle, and canoe.
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring sunscreen, insect repellant, water, binoculars, and a camera to make the most of your experience!
