Invasive Plant Removal (Marvin)

December 20, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join NCWF Habitat Builders Chapter at Marvin Efird Park to remove some invasive species. We will show you how to identify various species and how to remove them from the landscape.

Invasive plants are non-native introduced plants that do not support native wildlife. They are very aggressive, outcompete wildlife-friendly plants, and take over natural areas. Nandina, Privet, Monkey Grass, and Autumn/Russian olive are common invasive plants that have escaped residential landscapes and are taking over natural areas. To make matters worse, these plants are still available for sale in big box stores.

We will have some tools available, but you are encouraged to bring a pair of loppers, pruners, pruning saw, or shovel. NO POWER TOOLS PLEASE.
