Native Tree Planting (Cornelius)
November 15, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join NCWF Lake Norman Wildlife chapter for the planting of 150 native trees in Cornelius as part of North Carolina Wildlife Federation’s Clean and Green program. In the spring of 2025, the Town of Cornelius hosted the second annual Clean & Green trash cleanup event. Town staff, alongside volunteers with the Society of Women Engineers, Safe Harbor – Kings Point Marina, and Lake Norman Wildlife, took to the land and the lake to remove nearly 2000 pounds of trash and debris. As a part of North Carolina Wildlife Federation’s (NCWF) Clean & Green program, the Town received nearly 150 trees, which will be planted during the second phase of this year’s event.
These trees will be divided between two Cornelius parks (Legion Park and Jetton Park). Volunteers will meet at Town Hall at before be divided into two teams that will disperse and relocate to Legion and Jetton Park to plant the trees. It is expected that the event will last approximately three hours. Volunteers will head back at Town Hall around noon for a group photo, pizza, and refreshments!
If you participated in the spring trash cleanup, you are encouraged to volunteer for the fall planting!
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
