Join NCWF’s South Wake Conservationists chapter for a presentation by Celia Lechtman, the Assistant Manager of the Walnut Creek Wetland Park in Southeast Raleigh. Celia’s presentation will relay the history of the 60 acre Walnut Creek Wetland Park, from unspoiled natural treasure to sewage outfall and dump, through the pride and passion of the Black neighborhoods that worked to bring it back to life, and up to some of our restoration projects, successes, and challenges as it convalesces.

This is a hybrid event! If you are local to the area, please consider coming in-person! It will be a great opportunity to meet the speaker, socialize with fellow nature lovers and try your hand in a raffle! We’ll have light refreshments available.
