Join NCWF High Country Wild and Blue Ridge Conservancy for a workday along Aho Branch at BRC’s Conservation Campus. The Campus, located between Boone and Blowing Rock, has become a community hub with a rain garden for stormwater runoff, native landscape around the office, half acre pollinator garden trail, 2.2-mile public hiking trail, shrub transition zone for wildlife habitat between the forest and field, and an agricultural plot growing food for the community.

During this workday, we will direct our effort toward planting native plants and building deer proof cages to contribute to the larger ongoing stream and wetland restoration project on campus. This project will transform a former cattle grazing pasture into healthy aquatic and terrestrial habitat with riparian and vernal pool plantings along 800 linear feet of Aho Branch. Numerous wildlife species will benefit from this project including yellow-spotted salamanders and brook trout.
