Forest Bathing Workshop (Matthews)

May 17, 2026 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am

Join NCWF Habitat and Wildlife Keepers Chapter and Angie Stegall, award-winning author and ANFT Certified Forest Therapy Guide, for this 2.5-hour Forest Therapy experience.

Forest Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku or “Forest Bathing,” which includes a gentle walk, invitations for stillness and exploration, and sharing with others in the group. In the practice of Forest Therapy, participants are guided into nature step-by-step and invited to engage each of their five senses.

The growing body of scientific knowledge demonstrates the benefits of spending time in nature, as a wellness practice, and as an effective way to manage stress.

Join us for this journey with the more-than-human world at Purser-Hulsey Park in Matthews to unplug, slow down, and reconnect with yourself and the natural world around you.
Our time together will include:
Introduction to Forest Therapy
Sensorial nature experiences
A handful of guided Forest Bathing invitations
Sharing / listening circles
Closing circle

Pre-registration is required! Each participant must register separately.

A $25.00 fee is required for participation in this event.
