Pollinator Garden Workday at Dismal Swamp State Park (South Mills)

March 26, 2026 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join NCWF’s Wildlife Habitat Stewards of Northeastern NC Chapter at Dismal Swamp State Park on Thursday, March 26 from 10 a.m. to noon as we get the pollinator garden ready for the season. Together we’ll tend to the garden, trimming grasses and shrubs, caring for the flowering perennials, pulling invasive weeds, and even installing a brand‑new bluebird house. It’s a great chance to learn about the plants that support our pollinators while lending a hand.

After the work is done, we’ll take a relaxed stroll along the park’s half‑mile Swamp Boardwalk Trail, a perfect way to enjoy the sights and sounds of early spring.

Dismal Swamp State Park offers a rare glimpse into the largest remaining swamp in the eastern United States. With its rich plant and wildlife diversity and deep cultural history, from George Washington to the Underground Railroad, it’s a place full of stories and natural wonder.
