Surf Fishing Fundamentals: Reading the Beach, Rigs, and Catching Fish (Online)

Join NCWF Fall Line Outdoors Chapter for an introductory saltwater fishing webinar focused on helping beginners gain confidence surf fishing along the North Carolina coast. This session will cover beginner-friendly surf fishing gear, rods and reels, common saltwater rigs such as hi-low and fish finder rigs, basic knots, bait selection, and how to read waves, troughs, cuts, and beach structure to locate fish.

Participants will learn practical techniques for surf fishing while also receiving a brief introduction to pier and bridge fishing. The webinar will emphasize simple, affordable setups and real-world techniques that help new anglers successfully target species such as whiting, croaker, bluefish, red drum, and other common North Carolina coastal fish.

This webinar is designed for adults who are new to saltwater fishing or looking to build confidence fishing the surf and coastal waters of North Carolina.
