Rewilding Oases Planting Workday (Chapel Hill)

February 8, 2026 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join NCWF Tri-County Conservationists Chapter for a Rewilding Oases workday at Brumley! Native species and habitats in Brumley Nature Preserve have been pushed out by invasive species like privet and autumn olive. Walnut Grove Loop is a lovely, shaded area of Brumley South. Most of the big invasives have been removed, now we are establishing Rewilding Oases, where volunteers will focus their efforts on restoring native species. At this event, we will begin planting our oases with native tree and shrub saplings, including black cherry, beech, elderberry, and black walnut. Help us restore habitat for wildlife in Chapel Hill!
