Hiking for Habitat: Day 34, April 25
April 25, 2022
April 25 (24 miles)
24 miles from Carter Falls Trailhead to Stone Mountain State Park. After a full night of sleep, Bob dropped me back off on the trail in the morning. Starting to get used to the heat despite the back sweat and chaffing. Cows were a major theme of the day. Every corner I turned seemed to reveal another farm with more cows. I was back on trails once I reached Stone Mountain State Park. I had a long conversation with one of the park rangers. She filled my head with knowledge about the granite dome that serves as the centerpiece of the park. I camped at an isolated backcountry site.
