Black Vultures (Charlotte)

February 13, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Look up on a warm sunny day in Charlotte and it is not uncommon to see several large black vultures soaring on thermals above. While these vultures play a critical role in keeping our environment clean, conflicts do arise with these beneficial scavengers. Please join Charlotte Wildlife Stewards as we host UNC Charlotte Doctoral candidate Hannah Partridge. Hannah will discuss her research that explores the drivers and solutions for black vulture conflicts and future changes to the black vulture range. Her research aims to inform better management of black vulture conflicts and to predict where these conflicts will arise while working to improve our relationship with this important species.
