This in-person event is free and open to all youth. 

All participants must be pre-registered and accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

We’re on the hunt for caterpillars! Join our expedition to find the many caterpillars roaming the park and learn all about what they eat and how they change into butterflies! We’ll be specifically searching for monarch caterpillars.

Located in Cumberland, Carvers Creek State Park features Long Valley Farm, which was once the winter retreat of James Stillman Rockefeller, and the Sandhills access that offers multi-use trails through beautiful longleaf pine ecosystems. Both accesses include diverse habitats that are home to unique species.
