NC Deer Processing Workshop (Alexander)

October 11, 2026 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Are you interested in learning to field dress and butcher a deer? Join National Wildlife Federation’s Artemis Sportswomen for a hands-on clinic. We will break down a deer carcass into primal cuts and discuss different practices for cooling and safe handling of meat in the field.

Artemis ambassador Lisa Fierman is hosting this event in partnership with North Carolina Wildlife Federation and Southern Appalachian Highland Conservancy. The deer will be used as an educational tool for folks interested in learning how to process their own deer. Participants will be able to bring home some of the meat after attending the workshop.
