Bolin Creek Privet Removal (Chapel Hill)

July 16, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join NCWF’s newest chapter, the Tri-County Conservationists, for their inaugural event! The chapter will initially focus their conservation work in Chapel Hill with plans to grow and serve Alamance, Chatham and Orange County.

At this habitat restoration, we will work together to remove invasive plants that are running rampant along Bolin Creek in Chapel Hill. Invasive plants, such as privet, create a host of environmental problems, including but not limited to, decreased plant diversity, increased soil erosion, degraded habitat, and diminished water quality.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about the chapter’s effort to promote environmental stewardship and create healthier wildlife habitat through action-oriented conservation.

We will meet on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill for a brief introduction,  then walk down together into the woods and get to work. You will be amazed at how much land can be reclaimed for native species in just a couple of hours!

Tools and water will be provided. As a bonus, NCWF will bring biscuits for the volunteers! Please register below to receive the meeting address and full event details.
