Lake James Annual Clean-Up (Nebo)

March 16, 2024 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

Volunteers are needed to help remove trash & debris from the lake and surrounding roads. Safety vest, grabbers, trash bags & gloves will be provided. Please dress warmly & wear boots or appropriate shoes (no sandals!). We will meet at the Patty’s Creek State Park at 8:30 am for group assignments. Groups will be picking up trash by boats on the shoreline and islands, and walking along N. Powerhouse Rd., Benfield Landing Rd & Hwy 126. Area High School students will be participating for Community Service letters. Lunch will be provided at the State Park beginning at 1 pm. Lake James Annual Cleanup, March 18. The Lake James Area Wildlife and Nature Society gathered for its annual trash cleanup where 172 participants of all ages removed over 8,000 pounds from both shorelines and roadways near Lake James State Park. Large, bulky items like tires and wood planks were collected and removed, as well as harmful small plastics that can suffocate wildlife.
