Sow Seeds of Love for Wildlife (Roper)
February 10, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Please join NCWF’s Wildlife Habitat Stewards of Northeastern NC chapter for an afternoon of celebrating our love for wildlife at the Spruill Farm Conservation Project located in Roper, NC! Just this past December, The Spruill Farm Conservation Project became a conservation easement protected land, owned and managed by The Peanut Factory, Inc. of Edenton. This is a new phase in the history of both organizations where they look forward to promoting research, education, and access, as well as creativity, artist residencies, and more.
Enjoy cutting and creating your own special valentine card from handmade Butterfly Highway seed paper. Give it to that someone special or keep if for yourself to plant and watch your love for wildlife grow! Assist in the creation of a Butterfly Highway Pitstop while enjoying a nature walk through cypress-gum swampland, farmland, and bald cypresses marking a slow march of the Albemarle Sound shoreline. Complete the afternoon relaxing around the warmth of a campfire. Planting Butterfly Highway native pollinator seeds will help restore native pollinator habitat in Northeastern NC, creating a network of native flowering plants and gardens to support pollinators which are critical in providing wildlife with the fruits, nuts, and seeds they rely on for food.
